Don’t let the devil enjoy your silence!

If there is ever a time in history that we should not be silent, it’s now. We’ve used prayer as a backup for too long. How many times have you prayed when your own agenda failed instead of praying FIRST? I’m ashamed to admit I’m guilty. We all are.

Our world is being shaken, our government is debatable, our jobs and economy are at stake. I’ve seen II Chronicles 7:14 quoted so much the last few weeks, and it’s so true. I’m going to add one more for you: ‬”Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭

The Greek word for “without ceasing” in 1 Thessalonian 5:17 is adialeiptos, which doesn't mean nonstop-but actually means constantly recurring. In other words, we can punctuate our moments with intervals of recurring prayer, and by that, we pray without ceasing. Notice the what surrounds the prayer part? “Rejoice” and “give thanks”. Don’t forget those two! And do NOT let the devil enjoy your silence. 💛
