I go behind my husband and fix his clothes every day, and I’m privileged to do it.

What’s on my mind today?

This dresser.

This is my husband’s chest of drawers.

Every. Single. Day. I walk by it and the drawers look like this.

And every day, I just pop the clothes inside and close the drawers.

Have there been times when I walked by and thought “did he not notice 1/2 of a shirt literally hanging OUTSIDE the drawer??”

Well, duh. Of course.

But honestly, in 12 years of marriage, I have NEVER mentioned to him that I close his drawers every day.

He probably doesn’t even realize I do it. Or maybe he does. Who knows?

(Well, he does now because....the internet)

My point is this:

I love my husband, and I don’t care that he never shuts the drawers all the way. There is most likely plenty he does for me too and has never told me.

It took me a long time to realize that it is one of my greatest privileges in life to GET TO close the drawers every day.

Some people buried a spouse this year. Some people are still praying for God to send them a spouse at all. Some people went through a divorce this year. Some people can’t even stand to be in the same room with their spouse.

So, I will close the drawers.

And thank God for my husband and my life every time I do it.
