Thank you Ashley Franks for asking me to write today for Melody without Measure.
When Ashley ask me about writing this week, we (The Perrys) were on the road in Delaware in a van! We had super long drives between each date and to be completely honest, I was not happy about it one little bit! We were having to be up and on the road by 6am and for a singer, we only think 6:00 comes once in a day and it ain’t in the morning!
I was road weary! It was the last weekend before our Christmas break, so it was dragging by so slow! By Saturday night after driving 9 hours to Gastonia, NC, I was in my hotel room and posted on my Facebook status, “I’ve never been so glad to get out of a van in my life!”
The next morning there was a comment from a dear precious lady I had just seen on Thursday night in Wilmington, NC. She was thanking me for tolerating riding in a van so far because she was uplifted and encouraged so much.
Her husband had a massive stroke a few years back and she has taken care of him with everything she has within her! Needless to say, her comment made me feel ashamed of myself! What I was enduring couldn’t even compare to what this dear sweet wife has been through the past several years, but she still had a beautiful smile and was loving on her husband even tho he couldn’t speak or return the love.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Gal. 6:9
